Texell Credit Union Headquaters

Texell Credit Union Headquaters

Operating out of Temple, Texas, Texell Credit Union is looking to build a new  headquarters building to house all of their departments within one building together as well as a small retail branch. This project is currently in the design process, construction documents have been completed and are being reviewed by the owner and Construction-Manager-at-Risk, American Constructors.

As part of the design focus, Texell has placed heavy importance on the experience of their employees and clients. To elevate these spaces and accomplish this goal, the design centers around the pedestrian path and experiences through the site and building – using the architecture as part of their talent recruitment and retention efforts. By using the naturally sloped site topography and a tall modern form, the new building seeks to stand out and create a landmarks space within the City of Temple.

The main building entrance is sheltered by an elevated “glass box”, creating a covered vehicular drop-off that leads into the double-volume lobby space. The lobby space functions as the main public front which people flow either into the retail branch or onward into the open work spaces, presentation spaces and employee gym. The monumental lobby stair leads to the second-floor portion of the glass box, an open break room and dining area. This space flows into a second-floor exterior patio and provides employees access to the outdoors via one pf a series of patio and balcony spaces. The remaining second and third floor spaces contain open work spaces and private offices that balance a feeling of “openness” and connectivity with sensitive program adjacencies that require extra privacy and sound attenuation.
