The scope of this project included making modifications to an existing technical college to create a K-8 school building. A large office area was modified to create the cafeteria/ multi-purpose room, and minor changes were made to the VCT flooring and carpeting to add color to the building. Restrooms were modified to work for the school and other restrooms were added to meet the plumbing count requirements for a school. Millwork was added to the new art classroom and several larger rooms were modified to create kindergarten classrooms with private toilet rooms.
This project was completed with a tight design and construction timeline to make the school operational for the 2020 school year. HCA was able to work quickly and in close collaboration with the GC to make sure necessary RFIs, submittals, and contractor questions were answered in a timely manner.
