Baylor Scott & White Health – Downtown

The Baylor Scott & White downtown Austin clinic is their flagship location for their push into the Austin market.  BSW wanted to take a fresh look at how they interacted with their patients and how the Architecture could shape this interaction.  Being in downtown Austin, the clinic would need to cater to a tech savvy crowd and so the lobby incorporated a number of design features to create spaces that were open and comfortable;  casual seating areas, a gourmet coffee bar and an interactive tech bar that displays examples of the latest technology for monitoring your health on a daily basis.  Back in the clinic area, the exam rooms are arranged around a central station that allows the doctors, nurses, and support staff to work collaboratively while remaining visible to the patients.  This centralized layout has greatly increased the productivity of the care providers, reduced patient waiting times and provided for a more interactive experience.
